“Sammy, do you ever wish on a star?”

The Winchester boys sat on the hood of the Impala, eating burgers and washing them down with ice cold beer. Things were quiet tonight.

“I used to. I wished for a normal family, for a dad and mom who came home every night, for a big brother who looked after me.”

Dean said nothing though he felt the sting of the last bit.

“But then I realized that I had those things, just not exactly like other people do. Do you?”

“Not for a long time, Sam, not for a long time.”
