Summary: What if Sherlock Holmes had investigated the Lizzie Borden case?
~~~
Just a few notes on the story itself:
The story of Lizzie Borden is true. I included my source materials at the end of the story if you’re interested in checking out the case. There are many sites that feature Miss Lizzie. My conclusions are my own but I think they are as plausible as any others Ive read.
Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson are taken from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s canon as much as possible. I chose to write in Watson’s first person in that spirit, since the majority of canon is also first person. Though I love all the Holmes and Watsons depicted in movies and television, I still sort of see Holmes as portrayed by Jeremy Brett. Watson maybe looks like Martin Freeman, who plays him on the new BBC Sherlock.
I hope you enjoy reading The Case of the Yankee Spinster as much I enjoyed writing it.
Alex
